Sales of televisions and sound equipment in Colombia grew 89.9% in June 2026, against 14.7% for total retail, according to figures compiled by Tecnogus. That 89.9% is one month and includes sound equipment. The 2.5 million TVs expected are a full-year estimate, with no World Cup left ahead.

Sales of televisions and sound equipment in Colombia grew 89.9% in June 2026. Total retail that month grew 14.7%. Gustavo Torres Rodríguez pulled the figures together in Tecnogus using DANE, FENALCO and GfK.

The same piece estimates about 2.5 million TVs sold in the country this year, close to 35% more than last year. In 2018, the Russia World Cup year, the number was 2.1 million.

The 89.9% is one month, and it covers sound equipment too, so it is not the same as TV sales alone. The 2.5 million is a full-year estimate, and June already happened.

Fenalco also says transactions for video devices go up between 30% and 50% on days Colombia plays.

In 2022 the count was 1.49 million units by September, with the Qatar tournament still ahead. This year the World Cup was in June and July, with no World Cup boost left for the rest of the year.
