Mercado Livre and iFood: $11.1 billion and $4.7 billion for Brazil

Two major commerce platforms have announced large spending plans for Brazil in 2026.
Mercado Livre Brasil expects to spend about US$11.1 billion in the country this year, 50% more than in 2025. That figure includes some operating costs and expenses. The company says its priorities include logistics, its marketplace and Mercado Pago’s credit portfolio.
iFood plans to invest about US$4.7 billion through March 2027, up 41% from the previous cycle. Around US$390 million or more is earmarked for technology and innovation. The wider plan also covers restaurants, new retail categories and iFood Pago.
For companies selling into Brazil, the areas to follow are concrete: logistics, credit, payments and technology.
