Latin America market entry for global brands

I help consumer electronics, audio and technology brands enter Latin America: which countries to start with, which distributors to choose and how to close the first major deals. I have worked for 22 years in more than 13 countries in the region.

How I Take Your Brand into Latin America

Every country in Latin America buys, sells and negotiates differently. That is why I build the plan country by country.

  1. Choose where to start

Which countries to enter first and in what order, based on your product, your price, the competition and the import costs in each market.

  2. Find the right distributors

I map and compare the distributors and partners that already sell your category in each country, and set up the meetings with the ones that fit your brand.

  3. Negotiate the terms

Territory, exclusivity, prices, sales targets and marketing support, agreed in writing from day one.

  4. Launch and close the first deals

I prepare your team and the distributor's team, and work with you to close the first major deals with retailers and corporate buyers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a distributor in Latin America?

I map the distributors that already sell your category in each country, compare them on coverage, channels, financial strength and the brands they carry, and set up the meetings. Then I help you negotiate with the ones that fit your brand.

Which country should we enter first?

It depends on your product, your price point and the competition in each market. The plan ranks the countries and sets the order, so you do not spread your budget across the whole region at once.

One distributor for the whole region or one per country?

Usually one per country or per group of countries works better, because each market has its own retail chains, rules and buyers. The plan defines which model fits your brand and where an exclusive deal makes sense.

What changes from one country to the next?

Import duties and certifications, how the market buys (a few large chains and marketplaces, or many smaller stores), prices and payment in installments, and the language: Brazil works in Portuguese. The plan covers each point country by country.

Our brand already sells in Latin America but sales are flat. Can you help?

Yes. I review your current distributors, prices and channels country by country, find where sales are being lost and help you fix it, with the same partner or a new one.
