In brief

US goods trade with Mexico reached $94.8 billion in July 2026, the highest monthly total on record and 27.5% above July 2025. These are dollar values, so the increase is not the same as 27.5% more goods crossing the border.

$94.8 billion in goods moved between the United States and Mexico in July. Canada was second at $62.8 billion and China third at $36.8 billion, according to U.S. Census Bureau data analyzed by WorldCity and reported by Noi Mahoney at FreightWaves.

It is the highest monthly total on record for trade with Mexico, 27.5% above July 2025. From January to July the total was $588.5 billion, up 16.1%.

For comparison, U.S. goods trade with Brazil totaled $8.8 billion in July, and trade with Colombia was $3.1 billion, according to Census Bureau data.

U.S. imports from Mexico were $60.6 billion, up 33.5%. U.S. exports to Mexico were $34.2 billion, up 18.1%. Of the roughly $20 billion increase over last July, about $15 billion came from what Mexico sold to the U.S.

These are dollar values, so a 27.5% increase is not the same as 27.5% more goods crossing the border. Price changes are inside that number too. The figures cover goods only, and July has not been revised yet.
