A data center conference in Santiago de Chile this month covered expansion plans from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft, and regional operators. The debate is no longer whether Latin America needs this infrastructure, but how quickly it can be built and where the power will come from.
A few years ago, many still questioned whether the region had enough demand. Today, significant investment is moving into Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina, with each market playing a different role.
The infrastructure will get built. The real opportunity is ensuring the commercial side grows with it. In Latin America, strong local teams, trusted partners, and customer relationships are what turn investment into long-term success.
