Prime Video commits $2 billion to Latin America for 2027 to 2030
Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios committed $2 billion in Latin America between 2027 and 2030, focused on Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile, with more than 25 new titles in 2027 alone. A four-year commitment gives local teams more time to build the market than a one-year budget.

Prime Video plans more than 25 new titles in 2027 alone, with local Originals expected to more than double by 2030.
Sports are also becoming a bigger part of the investment. More than 20 million households in Latin America watched sports on Prime Video during 2026, and the 11-year NBA agreement brings more than 200 games per season to Brazil and Mexico, with Argentina, Colombia and Chile also getting NBA coverage.
In 22 years bringing global brands into Latin America, the budget I was handed was usually a one-year budget, reviewed after twelve months against numbers the market had barely had time to produce.
A four-year commitment is very different. Local teams have more time to build the market before the next budget discussion starts.
